Living inventory of AI-enabled digital evidence-synthesis tools

Interim resources

While we make progress with procuring a living inventory of AI-enabled digital evidence-synthesis tools (AI-DESTs), we strongly encourage our community to use – and keep abreast of updates to – the ‘living’ RAISE (Responsible use of AI in evidence SynthEsis) guidance. Three documents are currently available:

  • recommendations for each of eight of the distinct roles in the evidence synthesis ecosystem: 1) evidence synthesizers; ;2) methodologists; 3) AI tool-development teams; 4) organizations that produce evidence syntheses; 5) publishers; 6) funders; 7) users; and 8) trainers of evidence-synthesis methods
  • recommendations for building and evaluating AI-DESTs
  • recommendations for selecting and using AI-DESTs.

We also encourage people to review the Funder executive memo (shared on 11 October 2025) outlining our proposed approach to technology-company engagement. The approach applies primarily to this foundation investment in the living inventory and even more so to our foundational investment in an open data system.

Other groups, such as ICASR (International Collaboration for the Automation of Systematic Reviews) may also be an appropriate source of interim resources.
